Every shackle tag placed on a love lock equals one pound of trash cleaned up. This community project has already cleared 2,000 pounds. The Shackle Tags by Covert Instruments give you a way to practice lockpicking in the wild and contribute to something bigger at the same time.
Inscribe the back of your tags with your logo, insignia, or online handle. Pick a love lock, affix your tag, re-lock it. Check local love lock bridges and see how your skill stacks up. Tags can also track your personal collection as you work through your locks.
Occasionally we release gold shackle tags into the wild as a community challenge. Find it, pick it, win a prize.
Rules for Placing Shackle Tags
- Customize your tags to keep track of which ones you have placed
- Place your shackle tags on love locks
- If a lock already has a shackle tag on it, try to add yours to it
- To count toward a TeamSeas donation, provide a video showing your uniquely customized tags on love locks and use hashtags #lovelocks, #ShackleTags, and #CovertInstruments on social media
- Community tag contributions are counted on Fridays each week
Rules for the Gold Tag Prize
- Video required to claim - must show the lock in its original location, the full pick attempt resulting in an open, and no destructive attacks
- Use hashtags #lovelocks, #ShackleTags, #CovertInstruments, and #GoldShackleTag on social media and tag us
- Email [email protected] if you find and open a gold tag to claim your prize
