Assa dp4400/dp11 Snowman in Anchor Las 802-2 Padlock Body by Jordan the Locksmith
Condition: Brand new old stock core and pins, used padlock body with a few light scratches
This custom ASSA dp4400/dp11 "Snowman" cutaway is mounted in a used Anchor Las 802-2 padlock body and built around a brand-new-old-stock core and pin set. At first glance it looks familiar, a standard stack of six pins topped with ASSA's tough barrel-style spools. Look at the five side pin chambers, though, and it gets wild: five serrated side pins, each split in half, with the two halves moving independently to align with the sidebar. It is one of the craziest designs ASSA ever built, and the cutaway gives a clear look at exactly how that split side-pin system works.
This is a picking-oriented cutaway, well suited for study, display, and hands-on practice with a genuinely unusual high-security mechanism. As with any functional cutaway, be gentle and keep tension light. These are hard to come by, and Jordan tracked down a small number to share.
Jordan the Locksmith is a full-time locksmith and custom cutaway maker. He has been picking locks since around 2010 and has worked professionally as a locksmith since 2017. Jordan began making cutaways in 2019 as a way to better understand lock mechanics and improve his own picking, starting with simple hand tools before moving into more precise mill work. His cutaways are made to remain functional, clearly expose the internal mechanics, and hold up to real hands-on use.
